I was going to say: Hey, that's pure Phil Collins! Collins, No Jacket Required is the culmination of years of 'gated' drums and by this time if your album didn't have it, you were left behind. I have always credited Collins with this signature.

How a recording-studio mishap shaped '80s music - YouTube

Except we actually had great music in the 80's and you don't. We were on the edge of new technology. We were innovating, unlike you lame fucking millennials who HAVE NOTHING OF YOUR OWN. Lame talentless fucks. Music mostly died in 1995. There's been a few good things since but not many. and just because you add gated verb to lame ass jew music will not make it not suck. YOU WISH

The end of the 80's ended creativity - in music, in movies, in books, in anything remotely innovate or original.
That's why half the movies and TV shows are remakes or updates of 70's or 80's releases, and the other half are from books written in the 70's or 80's.
Just look at the movies out right now - Marvel and Deadpool - 70's and 80's. (Even the GG music tracks are all 70's). Jurassic Park 4 or 5. Whatever. Based off book written by Crichton in the 80's. Ocean's 8 - an SJW remake of a late 90's remake of a 60's flick. Overboard - a remake of an 80's Goldie Hawn vehicle. Rampage - based off an 80's video game, for Chrissakes! Speaking of the Rock, they are remaking Towering Inferno as Skyscraper. Ready Player One was based in a future where the 80's was the culture.

Exactly. Great comment.

There is plenty of good music being made today. You just have to look for it.
