Reasonable really. If you're selling in a state, you should be paying sales tax in that state, presuming it has one. I suppose the interstate commerce being federal argument could be made, but I dunno how well that one would work, as I'm not a lawyer, I just play one on TV.

They already have laws to collect the tax.

What states want is a seller in state X sells to a buyer in state Y ... that the state Y can require the seller in state X collect sales tax.

How can a state 1/4 of the world away have any jurisdiction over a person that far away? They can't. Regardless of what SCOTUS says.

That is the issue at hand. Big businesses can handle this. Small ones can't. Up to this point, if I ordered something from you I was technically required to pay use tax to my state on it (equal to the sales tax mind you) but I had to do it voluntarily since nobody reported the transaction to my state. Nobody fucking pays use taxes until they get caught and few people ever get caught. States hate that shit and want it reported and paid. Sounds great until you realize that you just killed every small business that ships. Wait until this shit hits Etsy and eBay properly.

Less taxes. I think the point is one 7% tax and nothing else. Not sure if that’s income or sales.

Its levels the playing field for local retailers. It's either a 7% internet sales tax or abolish local sales tax.

TELEPHONE!

The orders will be finalized by merely calling a telephone number and punching in a transaction code invoice confirmation number.

Good old fashioned telephone purchase.

Then they will try to modify the constitution, AND established case law and practice.... and it will take decades.

This doesn't just apply to on-line. It applies to any out-of-state retailer, which would include on-line, catalog, and phone. They threw out the previous rulings that were made and applied to catalog and telephone sales and were later expanded to internet sales.
