Unless they’re willing to put down the fork and experience it themselves, you can’t convince them.
I tried it with a family member who did eat very healthily, but ate way too much. Wouldn’t listen to me about portion control, so I gave up.

Have a niece, always been in good shape, always been proud of her for keeping in shape, her mom always made sure the kids shaped thin by having healthy food.
Kid goes to college, I see her after 3 months in college. I didn't even recognize her, as she had plopped on at least 40 extra pounds. Had a talk with her mom, who was VERY embarrassed, said she told her she can't just eat shit food all the time. Will see her this summer, wondering if it continued to pig out or return to human form. I'm not optimistic.
