I have read a couple of different op-eds about the recent step down of Pao. I wish I could say of how surprising I was on how far off most of these writers are with what was truly happening over there at Reddit. Pao was the tip of the iceberg. We all know it, they don't.

That's the problem with modern journalism, they don't do research or try and find out the details of what they're reporting about. A lot of it is kneejerk reporting or it seems like they just get on the bandwagon, piggybacking what other uninformed news sources report.

How does this belong in /v/funny when it's just a meme for /v/adviceanimals ?
[–] Turbo_Sloth 0 points 5 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago
It doesn't, but the mods don't want to start banning things like memes from subreddits. I hate them, but it's up to us as a community to speak with our voats to get memes off v/funny

What's wrong with subverses having rules and mods enforcing the rules?
I mod /v/shortfilms, I'll delete anything that breaks the simple rules.

''''''Also the slut factor. You can't expect to be paid the same as the guy that just had his penis in you.

I'll be honest I don't give a damn what the NY Times says nor what goes on with Reddit.

Not once do they mention that she was married to a guy who stole $150 million from police and teacher pensions across several states, that her property has been seized as a result, or that the amounts she was suing Klenier for, then demanding not to appeal the suit, were precisely the same numbers that he needed to get out of criminal jams.
They're bending over backward to paint her as the victim of a male-dominated hive-mind, when in reality she's Bonnie to Buddy's Clyde.
I love watching them both get legally and socially gunned down equally.

"When news broke today that New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson was being replaced, it was surprising in that she has only been in the position for three years. It was more surprising when NPR and New Yorker reporters explained a big reason why: she had complained about unequal pay after she discovered she was being paid “considerably less” than the male editor, Bill Keller, that she had replaced."

Low paid editor replaced highly paid editor?
The only thing unusual about that is saying 'editor' instead of 'worker'.
