If your company is as cheap as mine was you will want to bring your own pillow, and towels. I always got to stay in the cheapest place available and having a decent pillow and a towel made for someone bigger than a six year old made a big difference.

When do you need earplugs? I don't usually feel like the room is particularly noisy.

Typically, you don't. But when a bunch of drunk delinquents decide to take the party to their room at 2AM, and you have to get up at 6AM, you'll be glad you brought a buck's worth of foam tranquilly.

A night light...i find that the bathroom lights are so bright when you get up in the middle of the night to pee. Also, I always travel with my nesspresso machine...can't stand weak coffee.

If you're not sure how much time you have to charge things maybe a backup USB battery to charge your phone on the go. Small ones can go for cheap as $10 and larger ones $20. Fit easily in a pocket.

Also, if you're traveling for work, and happen to find yourself at a trade show, you can likely find mini chargers for free. That's how I got two of mine. I rarely use them, so I can't attest to how long they last. Try grabbing a couple if your wary.
