Void Linux gave itself to the void, Korora needs a long siesta – life is hard for small distros • The Register

"That's a fairly common fate for small Linux distros run by one or two developers, as most are."

'Unfortunately, if we all stop using small distros five years from now there will likely be no brilliant new up-and-comers. '

'Perhaps the most difficult to quantify, but satisfying, is the personal experiences small distros can lead you through. '

'All these stories of small distros disappearing might be enough to put you off them. '

'The main developer of Void Linux has apparently disappeared. '

Maintaining a distro takes time and resources, so if you aren't popular, you'll have neither. Then again, popularity will mean shit, if you have only one person holding all the keys and that person goes awol.

I really hope the remaining maintainers don't let Void Linux die. I really love that system.

They write on the forums that the project will never die and there is a possibility that they might fork the project. It would be a shame as the name itself is quite nice.
