Fuck the ✡alt-right✡. They’re not paleoconservative at all. If you’re an American, what you want is School of Salamanca economics combined with Jeffersonian government scope. And in that regard, why go for “paleoconservatives” when you can just read the writings of the people who held the ideas before they were “paleo”? Frederic Bastiat stands out in my mind. Hell, even Alain de Benoist’s writings are good for a once-over, and he’s still alive.

John Bricker is probably the most authentic paleoconservative, that is to say the most undiluted manifestation of it's ideas like small government and isolationism. paleoconservative has it's origins on the Old Right, which pretty much lost out to Rockefeller Republican and neoconservative infiltration. You can read about Robert Taft going against Wendal Wilkie, Thomas Dewey, and Dwight Eisenhower.
