Officially no, in the field and unofficially I bet it would hang around. Then again I find it a bit funny worrying about saying something offensive when another part of training is how to shoot to kill a person, and even training with word choices to not think of them as people but as enemy combatants.

Only 10% of the military is combat oriented. The rest is support.

And still they go through basic training, they are taught using the same wording and still use targets to keep up to par on shooting skill that are human shaped on some of the ranges. I agree support is a big part of fighting and most of them will never fight but some of the conditioning still goes on. So saying "when engaging the enemy combatant aim for center mass, you need to learn this as you are going to the middle east" is ok but "shoot the sand nigger in the heart" is not ok. the comment that you are going to such and such deadly location the drill Sargents almost taunted my ex-wife with when she was in basic.
