The thing is, the great writers of the past survive, and the shit writers of their period, who sold a lot of books and got a lot of attention at the time, are forgotten. Meanwhile, in our own day the second-rate commercial writers are getting a lot of attention, so we notice them. That doesn't mean there are no great intellectuals creating new and interesting works that will live for centuries. A hundred years from now, people will be paying attention to the great writers of our period -- writers we may not even be aware of -- and the Koontz's and King's will be largely forgotten.

Publishing started to become infiltrated by commie gatekeepers in the 1930's onwards. You need to look into this subject, start looking at what happened in the post-John Campbell era of science fiction. Look at how 'feminist' authors like Marion Zimmer Bradley were enthroned, and praised - in Bradley's case even after she was outed by her own daughter as a pedophile rapist. Science fiction ceased to be about exploring alternative futures and started to be about the ideal of a single future told through the lenses of multiple authors. A lot of science fiction today can be summarized as 'transhuman communism in space'. It is a FACT that today if you wanted to write and publish a book through traditional publishing means, you could submit two manuscripts: one with a normal, white protagonist and then with an alternative degenerate 'diverse' protagonist: guess which one is going to be accepted and published? I would say the vast majority of great literature wouldn't even get a look in.

Have you noticed that the most successful men tend to have exactly two children, both daughters? I see this all over tech organizations.

I don't think this is an accident. I think maleness is being removed from humanity. Of course we're to end up with a less intellectual humanity.

It's been happening for a while now... I've accepted this and can't wait for the entertaining spectacle of what happens when this ride is finally headed off the cliff.

Serious literature has disappeared up its own orifice on both sides of the atlantic, this has been going on for decades. Why I don't know, maybe the intellectuals are not interested in writing anymore?
