Jesus Christ. You know you're getting old when granny in a garden dress starts looking hot.

This looks pretty simple and able to do without a machine. If you can get a pattern I'm down to try

You could draft a pattern.

If you buy one, I really recommend a historical recreation from a company like Past Patterns. Modern aprons don't give the coverage to really keep a gal clean.

Thank you, this would be my first project like this so probably buying one will be good. I'll check out this site when I get home, thank you, you guys are so inspiring to make our own things and a garden apron would be a very good thing for this summer.

Pockets get in the way especially when you're bending over. Far easier simply to drop piles by each plant and then walk by at the end with a bucket.

Yes, but not like that one...I don't like the style. I want a Japanese apron! They're so pretty and minimalist. I just need to find some good sturdy fabric - actually I just remembered, as I type, that I have a huge chunk of dark blue fabric in my stash that might work. But yes. Now that the snow is about gone, it's gardening season.

Google image search. They're super easy to sew, by the look of 'em!

I don't know what others call them but that's what we called them :)

I prefer oversized buckets that are extremely unwieldy.

We need to come up with manly garden aprons.

Sometimes those are the only thing big enough! The Dollarama carries big soft plastic totes - I'm planning to get one for hauling in green beans and stuff.

I actually have a nice little carrier that I got as a gift 2 years ago. It's a pretty sweet harvesting basket. But for potatoes and stuff I use a lowes bucket.
