If it wasn't for used games I wouldn't be a gamer. It's as simple as that. I just wouldn't be able to afford games.

For sure, this is an issue a lot of people face. There are ways that this could be addressed as people wish to move to digital, but until they are, used game sales play quite an important role in the industry. For now I would say we still need them in their current system. I do hope that we can move to a digital marketplace though. The ability to lower prices by not having the costs associated with actual copies in stores is great for the consumer(in regards to pricing) and retaining the same profits for the developers. But the current mindset won't allow for it to really work that way. Issues with internet connectivity, trading, publishers being money hungry, killing store profits, etc. We won't be there for a while, and I suspect it will be a rocky road.

If someone doesn't want to buy the game new, they simply won't. If a static price was introduced with no alternative, a lot of us would stick to our current libraries or good free games.

I like the notion of used games, but I like the idea of permanently owned re-downloadable games even better. So if they go away in replacement of an all digital library (eg. steam, playstation store etc.), I say it is a win over-all. PS. Older games prices usually fall anyway.

I love it for those less fortunate, but I usually buy mine new because I'm in a position to do so now.

If EA, Ubisoft, etc want to make money on used games so badly, they can open up a store. It's not like they can't afford it. They want to have their cake and eat it, too- they want income from used sales without the expense of running a store that buys/sells games.

When you buy a used anything, 8 out of 10 times (just a guesstimate) that money isn't going to the company that made it.

It helps the cheaper people to access more games and thus gives the games a wider audience. If a game company explicitly banned used game sales, it will get a lot of hate.

Used games were my gateway to tons of games series while in school and growing up. If not for used games I wouldn't be into as many games as I am now.

When I bought used I did so because I couldn't afford new, so it was be a gamer and play used games or game less and buy new games twice a year.

I'm all for used games; although the price of them is getting ridiculous in my opinion.

It's great. I've picked up a lot games that I was iffy about that way.
