I anticipate downvoats and that this won't be a popular opinion here, but unless there's something about backpage I don't know about (which is certainly possible), it's hard to see this as a good thing in terms of helping kids and combatting sex-trafficking.
I'm not a fan of either, but there's a big difference between rape/sex-trafficking of unwilling kids and prostitution between consenting adults.
All this does is take prostitution off of the "mainstream" web (where it can be monitored and controlled for the worst abuses) and where Backpage cooperated with the Gov to avoid getting shut down and moves it to the darker web where it's harder to look up accurate info for safety of both Johns and hoes. Now prostitutes (it's not going away ever, it's the world's oldest profession for a reason) have less avenue to ply their trade safely and are even more at risk of actual trafficking IMO.
EDIT: Q making multiple posts about backpage makes me think there might be something to this, so to be fair I'm going to reserve final judgement and see how this plays out. However, I do feel bad for "honest prostitutes" who are now at even greater risk. With Craigslist unavailable and backpage shut down there are no reasonable safe ways for whores to ply their trade. Again, it's not going away, it's just going to put those women (and men too) in a much riskier position with less info to make safe choices.

There are children that were being marketed there. As for legal age prostitution how do you not know they are being trafficked? Just because some women or men for that matter are over 18 does not mean they are doing it freely. Look at Keith Rainier branding women and abusing them. What about pimps that beat women into prostituting? Sure there are some that do it freely, but many do not. Fuck all those sites and may those owners lose all their money and beautiful homes in Sedona.

I see your point and agree. However as far as the government is concerned, first, prostitution is illegal across the board. Secondly, if you follow PG you know CIA is in charge of trafficking people to the "elite". That being said, privateers on backpage and others cut into (((their))) bottom line. We can't have your average John have ability to get his hands on merchandise that is only supposed to be used by the ultrarich.
The only way to truly combat the pedo rings is legalize and regulate prostitution. Same goes for the drug war and gambling.

There are some sensational Q anon posts today, and this happening at the same time is no coincidence. As part of his executive order, Trump is going after human trafficking. Backpage has been implicated before, but this time the feds have seized their online storefront.
