There's a logical fallacy that is very easy to fall prey that basically boils to this

A happened.

Later, B happened.

Therefore A caused B.

The fancy Latin Name is Post hoc ergo propter hoc "after this, therefore because of this."

So to say something happened since Trump was elected is not the same thing as saying it's happening because Trump was elected. If B is related to A, it might feel right, but to check the logic on this, try making A far way from B. To give an absurd example, this list almost matches the list of arrests since the Patriots defeated the Falcons in the Super Bowl. We can see obviously that the Super Bowl has nothing to do with these arrests, but it's the same form of an agrument.

This argument started within a month of Trump taking office. It was right here on voat by February 2017. But what people couldn't show is what Trump did to change anything. The first example I noticed was People were claiming this big sweep in CA was due to Trump. http://ktla.com/2017/02/01/474-arrested-28-sexually-exploited-children-rescued-during-statewide-human-trafficking-operation-lasd/

There was a few problems with this argument.

An event like this would take weeks and probably months to plan.

Trump had no control over the budget, since the federal fiscal year was still operating under the last budget Obama passed. The first budge Trump signed wouldn't go into effect until October 2017.

This was mainly local AND annual. It was the third year CA ran this sting. And they timed it to correspond to the end of January which since 2010, was designated as National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. The number arrested went up a bunch this year because for the first year, this wasn't limited to Southern California, it was expanded throughout the state.

So this was an example of something that had been going on for a few years and they were building on prior years claims and these arrests are often state and local cops doing the arresting not feds. The federal government is often involved, but most of the planning and manpower is local.

So you can't simply point to the numbers and then attribute the numbers to Trump. The shift to using the language of trafficking and going after prostitution because of trafficking has been building for a little bit now. If Trump is responsible, you have to point to some specific policy changes.

The Department of Homeland Security started the Blue Campaign against human trafficking several years ago https://www.humanrightsfirst.org/blog/dhss-blue-campaign-raises-awareness-human-trafficking

Here's more on the propter hoc fallacy. It's one used very often in arguments on the web.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc (Latin: "after this, therefore because of this") is a logical fallacy that states "Since event Y followed event X, event Y must have been caused by event X." It is often shortened simply to post hoc fallacy. Post hoc ergo propter hoc - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post_hoc_ergo_propter_hoc

What always happens is that you have an excuse for EVERYTHING. It doesn’t matter what changes have or will happen, paid shills like you will find a reason to try to convince others why it isn’t true. Your tactics don’t work on me BRO.

Not paid.

And I am correct.

These false claims starting happening immediately after Trump got in and they keep popping up. My favorite was the list that counted arrests in Nigeria was being influenced by Trump

AWS, it is certainly true that claims that Trump drove the trafficking busts early in his presidency are wrong. But your claim that because the early busts can't be attributed to his administration the entire spreadsheet is Fake News is equally wrong. Did you even look at the spreadsheet? It clearly states in red at the top that sentencing of Obama era busts is the key improvement:

It isn't asserting that Trump initiated these actions. In fact, it LISTS multiple LEOs engaged in them. He has also made it abundantly clear through multiple executive orders that he is going to magnify and enhance these efforts. That's not even considering the numerous leaks related to human trafficking and calls for us to research, document and raise hell about them that QAnon has made.

Your fancy education has made you blind.
