Amazon does get special deals through the USPS for deliveries and massive cost cuts for their volume. If I was a gambling man I'd wager trump is going to leverage this into Amazon helping implement warehousing methods and technology they use into the USPS. trump has harped multiple times and used the word 'dumber' which is where i'm basing this off of. I would love to see bezoz update and streamline the USPS for """free""" and we can all reap the benefit of them riding free bucks off the USPS.

You're more right than I had realized. I tried to get tangible data and found a few articles along this line which ended up backing your claims. http://fortune.com/2017/07/16/amazon-postal-service-subsidy/

so citigroup did a analysis that they get 1.46$ subsidy, but it's not due to a special amazon only deal, but the pricing model and the fact they have such a high volume that the math looks particularly favorable toward amazon.

Donald Trump Gets Mocked After Showing He Really Doesn’t Know What The Post Office Does | HuffPost

'Trump said Amazon uses “our Postal System as their Delivery Boy.”That has people wondering: Isn’t the United States Postal Service supposed to be in the delivery business?'

'The entire concept of the postal system is to act as a “delivery boy.” The US Postal Service is making a small fortune from Americans that shop online. '

'The USPS says on its website that it’s “the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation,” and notes that it delivers 47 percent of the world’s mail. '

'President Donald Trump on Thursday returned to one of his favorite targets, attacking online retail giant Amazon over taxes, its effect on brick-and-mortar stores and one other thing that caused some head-scratching. '

' I can’t believe I actually have to explain this. 😂 — Rhonda (@akitadais) March 30, 2018'

Surprise, President Trump is better informed than your paint huffing source. And another surprise, blame the Kenyan for another abyssmally bad deal:

'ePacket

In 2011, the U.S. Postal Service made special agreements with the national postal carriers of China and Hong Kong ... They called this shipping option the ePacket, and the rates are so low that it's cheaper to ship small parcels from China to an American city than it is to send that same parcel domestically. As Amazon’s Vice President of Global Policy Paul Misener pointed out:

“The cost to ship a one-pound package from South Carolina to New York City would run nearly $6; from Beijing to NYC: $3.66.

While sending that same one-pound package from New York City back to Beijing via USPS International Mail would cost in the ballpark of $50." '

I know there's a huge issue in e-commerce: Thanks to bad deal postal subsidies, it's cheaper to ship stuff from China than domestically! So this puts domestic sellers at a disadvantage. This is definitely so with eBay, Ali Baba, not entirely sure how it works out in Amazon.

(Just FYI, this has long been used by Chinese scammers on eBay: 'Oh, you ordered an iPhone and we accidentally sent you an oven mitt? So sorry. Please return the oven mitt and we''ll promptly give you a complete refund.'

It's a scam because return shipping to China is prohibitive. I think PayPal finally added some protections, but it's an opt-in program.)

I added another comment explaining 'ePacket' elsewhere. Hopefully HuffPost losers have a sufficient grasp of economics to understand.
