And that's for a number of reasons. The only way to get QBs back then was through the draft or by a trade since there was no free agency. Coaches had much better job security back then as opposed to today. He was the #1 overall draft pick and back then you just didn't want to give up that huge of an investment quickly.

Plus the fact that it was the dead-ball era so those numbers, while bad by today's standards and still bad by those standards, were not nearly as bad back then as they would be considered today.

sanchez has 68TD/69INT in 4 seasons with the jets. he got ousted though. so not as shitty as terry surprisingly
