What if privacy is an important part of a child's development?

Then kick them off facebook, instagram, etc.

Are you suggesting the NSA is not looking out for the well-being of our children. It's time you report to the re-education camp for wrong-think.

But the safety of our children is more important than anything else. Children's lives are at risk.

Good law abiding students have nothing to hide. Therefore none of them would have any problem with clear backpacks, because there's nothing to keep private.

I am sure that some kids will be able to pay money, maybe pass a background check, and then be able to "conceal" the contents of their backpack. Maybe call it a "Concealed Carry Backpack Permit" or something.

Of course, if you change schools, you have to get that schools Conceal Carry Permit. and, no Concealed carry in the library, of course.

Will there be signs for no colored bags?

We can form the NBA (National Backpack Association) and solicit membership monies to buy our own votes.

No high capacity Velcro pockets though.

I think I'd rather get my kid a bullet resistant backpack.

"Why? Is he planning something??"

This is a great idea that would give peace of mind to parents and students, but that is the liberal mentality we are dealing with.

If you've got nothing to hide you've got nothing to fear.

I hope this curbs the use of military-style high capacity assault packs.

Are none of you old enough to have had this as a result of Columbine? People have the memory of goldfish lately

A lot of the weird 90s stuff is just reappearing out of nowhere and anyone who remembers it is completely ignored. Same brain dead left wing nuts, religious freaks, and drug addicts eating away at society. Anyone suggesting you give people personal agency is literally a nazi once again.

Can someone explain to me what the clear backpacks are supposed to accomplish? Everybody knows that off-body carry is not a good choice.

Less damage. On-body conceal means a smaller fire arm. You can only carry so many magazines on your body. The idea of metal detectors is floating out there. Clear backpacks speed up that process. Not to mention what we learned in the month of March. A 23 year old possessing the will and knowledge to craft bombs with items found at hardware stores. Clear backpack would help expose suspicious devices.

I don't trust the little bastards. Make them wear clear clothing, too. Opaque underwear is ok, but suspicious bulges will be probed by the school underwear detective. Those little fuckers want to take away my 2nd Amendment rights? I want them to lose their privacy rights.
