Mail it their Head office with a letter attached, the time and effort they'll waste disposing of it for you will be worth it.

I heard that Epson printer prices are increasing while they are reducing the prices of their ink and toner. I haven't bought a printer in several years so I haven't followed it closely to see if that is accurate or not.

The real question is why hasn't a new manufacturer stepped in to sell expensive printers with cheap ink

In coming actually:

Ackshually, it's scorpion venom that is the most expensive liquid in the world. Printer ink is up there though.

Printer blood is more expensive than human blood. That's pretty amazing.

Yeah my first thought was that there's no way it's the most expensive

Black Angus Bull is up there too.

Most expensive Black Angus bull ever sold in Montana goes for $350000 at Malta auction. ... “Usually a bull like that will sell semen anywhere from $30 a straw to $50 a straw,” said Jared Murnin, general manager of ORIgen. A “straw” is the amount of bull semen necessary to impregnate a single cow.

If you don't need to print colors just get a simple black laser jet printer. Cost should be about the same and a cartridge of laser jet ink lasts for 10s of thousands of printouts not 50 like an inkjet. I haven't changed an ink cartridge in 3 years an print things all the time.

I want to print out a bunch of drawings from comp graphics files I have, but to save money, I want to print them in black/gray and then color in with sharpies (mostly abstract pattern stuff).

Feedback welcome.

Laser printers are where it's at. Scan the thrift stores for an old one. They're big and heavy but chances are it still works. They're faster, have better print quality and have a much lower per page cost.

That's your choice. But there is nothing inherently wrong with buying used.
