I used to make pics out of all kinds of stuff. I primarily use metal ones these days or a Dunlop .46. Why? Who knows

Years ago my mother bought me a Pick Press. Shaped just like a stapler, it stamps out picks from any material I want.

I got one of those from a secret santa thing, best present ever. Just grab gift cards at the gas station, dont put money on them, its like 5 or 6 picks each card

Buy picks in bulk. You can get them in a box of 1000. It's truly the only way to order them.

How often do you go through guitar picks? :P

It can depend on what type of guitar strings you use. I use Cobalts and they are pick eaters.

I go through a lot, if I'm performing. They're disposable, in the way I use them. They crack, split, chip, etc... I'm also fond of tossing them out by the small handful to the audience. I carry a fine felt tip pen and will initial them after the show. No, I don't know why they want my autograph. I'm a nobody in a cover band and they'll have forgotten my name by Monday, but they do and it makes them happy. So, I do it.

I'll go through as many as fifty at a show. At home, they might last a few hours before I toss them. So, I'll go through one a day when doing heavy practice. I have boxes of different styles, thicknesses, and colors. I prefer lighter colors, as they are easier to sign. The audience likes it.
