It has emerged that Skripal is a former intelligence agent. In 2006, Russia sentenced him to 13 years for treason, for allegedly spying for British intelligence services, passing secrets to MI6 since the late 1990s and receiving more than $100,000 (€80,000) for sharing the identities of Russian agents in Europe.

The guy destroyed a huge amount of the Russian spy program and jeopardized the lives of hundreds of agents and potentially destroyed decades of work.

If he had done this to British or American agents, I'd be outraged if our spy was living well in a country that supposedly should have a somewhat neutral disposition towards me.

It's totally justifiable.

The scandalous thing is that the British are making such a big deal of protecting a traitor.
