Wow, what’s it like to be with someone 14 inches taller than you?

Hee, it's lovely! :-) I love my big hunky hubby and his big broad shoulders!

But yeah...there are a couple of situations where it can be kind of a pain in the ass. It's hard to go for more than a minute or so of serious kissing while standing up, because it hurts my back to bend backward like that or it hurts him to hunch over. I am a fan of high heels and handle them very well but I don't wear them all the time. It kind of sucks that my face is always pressed into his chest in bed (sorry if that's TMI, but you did ask) instead of being able to kiss him or even his neck, and the fact that his legs are so much longer/he's so much taller means he has to crouch or hunch uncomfortable to achieve certain positions.

That doesn't mean it's not great for us or anything, of course. We manage just fine! (If I was a fat, this is where I would tell you that our sex life is way more fun and better than yours could ever hope to be thanks to my fat, or something, lol.) It's not a problem or anything, and we have plenty of sex still after almost eighteen years of marriage, it's just some positions don't work as well.

We do, however, have the fun of things like him lifting me up to his eye level so I can be amazed and delighted by the way he can see the top of the fridge (which I cannot do) or how far away the floor looks; or he crouches to my level and teases me about how tiny he feels. It gets me out of some housework (I never have to change lightbulbs or empty high cabinets and shelves). It means it's exciting to kiss on stairs because we can be so much closer in height, which is one bit of fun I do think most couples don't have since it's not such a novelty for them! I never lose him in a crowd, heh, and he can usually find me by looking for the gap in normal-height heads. I've made dresses out of his old t-shirts because they almost reach my knees, which is fun, and I look like Gandalf in his raincoat (it pools around my feet!).

But for the most part it's not a big deal and I barely notice it (but then, I usually "forget" how short I am, and most people who know me say they also forget because I walk tall and with confidence, which, maybe that's true and maybe it isn't but I take it as a compliment either way). I love that he's so big and tall and strong and he says he loves how petite and sexy and delicate/feminine I am (which of course doesn't mean taller girls are unfeminine!), so we're pretty happy.

It does make me sad to be the smallest one in the family again, though. I used to carry those girls everywhere, and now I look ridiculous trying to pick them up! I keep telling them to stop growing up but they're disobedient. :-)
