'Liberal' mostly stands for freedom but now a days is used against freedom.

This confused me for the longest time. Then I realized that Liberals and Libertarians were two different terms. Now I know that only the latter is actually for freedom. The former is more like liberal application of control and government over people.

If you go outside of the US, liberal still means what it used to. In Europe 'liberal' parties are generally the right wing ones.

I don't know where you think it flips every decade, Liberals [yes the term is the opposite of it's traditional meaning but that's EXACTLY what Liberals do] have been for MORE government in our lives since Wilson.

'Liberal' mostly stands for

And here I thought I was going to go an entire day here without some pedantic cunt lecturing me on 'muh classical liberalism'.

That seems unwarranted. Words matter, and liberal is not the appropriate word to describe people who hate liberty.
