I love the ‘alternatives to soda’ section. Very educational. I didn’t know you can drink water instead, did you?

There are actually lots of people who literally never drink water, and often drink nothing but soda. I can't even fathom it. I mostly drink water, once or twice a month I might drink some Dr. Pepper. But drinking NOTHING but soda 24/7 isn't even thinkable to me.

Yeah I don’t understand it either. I love water and tea, I drink soda once a month maybe? Everyday? So gross.

I've been drinking soda all my life and I love soda, but even I make sure I drink at least one big glass of plain water every day, too (usually it's more like three)--I get one soda a day, that's it. I love caffeine and am not a big coffee fan.

I honestly think this is one of the reasons society is "ok" with the high level of water pollution we have right now. (Yes, it's all water. No, your bottled water isn't special.) People have no idea that they need to drink it! They don't even consider that water is part of everything they consume because it's "that stuff in the toilet bowl."
Fun Fact: Did you know that you can legally flush radioactive waste down the toilet? How many waste treatment plants do you think remove radioactive waste during the treatment process?

Drink as much full sugar Mountain Dew as you like, you carb hoarder. I suggest starting with 4 liters during your first sitting and going from there.

This kind of thing shows the main problem with gastric surgery. Cutting out worthless, nutritionally devoid soft drink is step one on any weight loss plan. If someone is not willing to make a sacrifice as small as even switching to the sugar-free versions, that tells you all you need to know about their dedication. They want a magic solution that does all the work for them while they continue to eat like the embodiment of gluttony. It is beyond pathetic that you can pay thousands for this kind of procedure and then try and justify sugary soft drink.

I knew someone who was 250 and lost almost 100lbs after the surgery. She kept drinking soda and eating bad foods and constantly has diarrhea and other issues. Even had to have both knees replaced. I think bariactric surgery is BS even the people it helps usually stay at least somewhat overweight. Rarely do they look like a normal human being.

Fats often seem to get this idea that bariatric surgery the easy way out, a get out of jail free card. Then they're like "oh wow I lost all this weight now I can go back to eating several times what a human being is supposed to" and and in no time at all they end up right back at square one. Losing weight requires a lifestyle change, there is no quick easy fix. No matter how much weight someone loses they'll gain it all back in no time at all if they go back to their old habits. They know this and they're told this before getting any such surgery, but fats are too stupid to consider things like long-term consequences versus short-term gain. This illustrates the mindset of your typical fat pretty well.
