Super Mario World. I will speedrun (badly) every couple of years and then never turn on the SNES for another couple of years. 30 mins every two years and my left thumb has almost enough time to recover.

I enjoy games with broken/mediocre combat(within reason of course). Classic resident evils, silent hills, Dino crisis, etc.. It adds to the survivability and when combined with proper atmosphere; keeps the mood very well.

I used to have the mentality as a kid that if the combat was "broken" that meant they paid more attention to the story.

RuneScape. I played it long after it stopped being "cool" and don't regret most of it.

Shitty Tower Defense games. The kind that let you level-up your towers, so that I don't have to put effort into trying new strategies or anything. I can just keep leveling up more and more.

Any game in the Dynasty Warriors genre (e.g. Ninety-nine nights, Kingdom Under Fire, Hyrule Warriors).

They're pretty mediocre games, bursting at the seams with cringey characters and dialog. But they nail the power fantasy.

I loved the old DW voice acting before they got better people and before they learnt how to pronouce the names properly.

Ninety-nine nights

I really want to play those two.

I genuinely enjoyed playing through Duke Nukem Forever. Sure it's not the greatest game of all time but I got a few good laughs out of it.
