It's compression force+time that makes a bullet go fast. For whatever reason people think bullets have rocket packs on their back or something.

I wouldn't imagine it would project the round, but I would think it would be more than simple "pop". An entire box of ammo, igniting at the same time, should at least damage the microwave pretty badly, would it not?
While writing this, I decided to look it up. Seems like the brass casing can cause some decent damage to eyes/etc, but generally speaking, an unchambered round won't do too much.
