I have an even better and much older piece of technology: a belt.

I'm wearing a pair of pants I've had for twenty years right now. Yes, I've repaired the pockets a hundred times and it's probably time to get rid of them, but they're actually a little too big for me anyway(34/32 and I wear a 32/32).

Same, I have a pair of cargo shorts that I've had for about 10-12 years now. Wear them when I go fishing or boating. I've stitched so many holes and tears in them I think it's more seams and patches than original fabric by now, but by god are they comfy. I'm a 32 and they're a 34 so they hang a little loose, but nothing a good belt doesn't fix.

I have a tux that is 20 years old, bought it when I qualified as a solicitor (lawyer). It fits perfectly, slightly lose if anything as the current fashion in suits is for a more form fitting cut. Why do people assume you have to get fatter as you get older?

I have a lot of old clothing as well. Most jeans I replaced to be honest because the quality wasn't good to begin with, but the jeans I bought after that I still have. You must be a guy since I wear 27/34 and I assume you're not fat :)

I still track exercise and food with a pen and paper.
Truely I am ancient.

I LOVE Garmins! The newer Forerunners are amazing, and the newer Vivoactives are great too if you're not primarily a runner. I have a Forerunner 935 right now, and it's great. Just a stellar training partner, and worth every penny.

Really? I don't run (muh disabilities) so I lift, bike and hike instead. I was thinking it would be nice to get actual numbers to track instead of just keeping a weekly count in my head. How are they with bodyweight, dumbbell, or bicycle training?
[–] SkinnyDick 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
Sorry for the late response, I don't check voat very often. For bicycling, they are superb. The pricier garmins have the ability to connect accessories to your bike to track all kinds of different data. The vivoactives will track route and speed, but not much else. For bodyweight/dumbbell, it will track heart rate/calorie burn and that's it.

The vivoactive 3 tracks many workouts from all cardio to weight training and yoga. It’s not perfect but it tries to predict the exercise I’m doing such as 12 reps of squats. It’s not always right but you can edit it later and have a good base to work off. They’re great for bike training because it uses GPS outdoors as is very accurate. It even accounts for wind. On a trainer you can use a foot pod but nothing accounts for power like zwyft.

I'm interested in that watch though. Could really use it for weightlifting, hiking, and eating enough because I know what I've burned.

I have a slightly overweight friend that wanted a fitbit more than anything this Christmas. When she got it, she set goals from day one, and so far this year she's lost 18lbs

My brother in law is a whale and he's turning his daughters and now my sister into little tubsters. My 7 year old niece wanted a fitbit for Christmas. She got one, and has never been fatter. Ditto my sister, who bought herself one. Why? Because fatlogic, of course. They slap a fitbit on their wrists and now believe that they are healthy and can eat whatever they want because they have a magic bracelet now. Remember those stupid magnetic copper (wtf?) healing bracelets that stupid people still buy? Fitbit is that, for fat people.

You still have the same problem. The lard dumpsters can't count calories correctly, so they'll only input about 1% of what they're actually eating. This will only encourage them to squeal louder about how their metabolism is slow and that's why they're still gaining weight on 300 calories a day. The watch will give them extra fodder to scream at the medical community that they're right, and that doctors and scientists don't know how the body works or how calories are used. It's like we all already know... Fats are retards.

Hrmm, one serving of chips...150 calories... ~dumps 2 bags in a giant bowl~ there, that's one serving! only 150 calories for all this!
