Weight aside, you're never more than a few miles away from a station. You can wait till the light comes on and be fine. Hell, I can make it to and from work twice after the low fuel warning comes on.
Guess you'd want to factor in how much work your vehicle does with more gas in it. It may or mkay not be worth it for you personally. I tend to procrastinate and end up with a fuck ton of last minute problems, so filling up at half is best for me.

That's my exact reasoning,the extra fuel will be using more energy to carry said energy,only fill as much as I need for the local trip
