Difference between writing a story and finding actors who fit that vision and checking off boxes to meet a quota

Exactly. The complaint is always focused on the diversity, so they can claim the high ground against the bigots. When it should just be about the good awful just terrible writing and acting... And self destructive nature of these SJW writers. Start wars is dead because they wanted to intentionally kill the franchise. Just like everything else.

Honestly it depends on the charisma. In the prequels the dialog writing was god awful but Ewan McGregor and Liam Neeson had good charisma so the movie was slightly improved in spite of the pitiful script.
You're not going to get the same charisma out of those diversity hires.
It's interesting to see what Disney really thinks of those actors based on how shopped their faces are in that promo photo
Boyega looks like he was just drawn in there they manipulated him so much. Smoothed out his skin, thinned the bridge of his nose (but not nostrils), lengthened his face, raised his cheekbones and shaved off roundness to make him appear more masculine. Moved his eyes closer together. Made his lips smaller
Daisy ridley had her eyes fixed, face lengthened, and her jaw reshaped. Nose thinned and lengthened. Basically everything is stretched.
Kelly Marie Tran isn't like super attractive anyway but they actually made her uglier by making her jaw more masculine and giving her a bad hairstyle for her face. They were shooting for ugly though for some strange reason, otherwise the chick who played her sister would've had her role

You can't act your way out of shitty writting and terrible story. It only allows for one less turd in a dung pile a mile high.

It's not about Star Wars anymore. It's about the broader culture war.

Exactly. This is culture wars. It's bigger than the franchise.
