Not only do I browse more subverses, but I actually contribute. I never wanted to at Reddit, but I genuinely enjoy contributing on Voat.

Whenever I posted something on reddit I was always worried about the potential backlash...

I think I made one comment about how I enjoy casual entomology and I got loads of downvotes and several rather nasty comments.

It definitely feels different over here!

Yeah a lot of times I would write up a post. But not submit it because of the crazy down votes in some subreddits. It made me hesitate to contribute.

But here people can't just down voat at will, and upvoates hold more weight as they're limited. People save them, and this helps good content to shine.

Same here it took me a really long time to post on reddit. I was still always a bit worried about backlash but got used to it and didn't care. Here not so much but that might be because I am already comfortable. I think the smaller size right now help a bit too.

I feel the same about Voat. Commenting here feels a lot better than reddit where I would feel bad whenever someone replied to my posts. Maybe as the site grows some of that will change, but for now the majority of people here are friendly and can engage in discourse without calling OP names.

I currently browse fewer subverses than I do subreddits. This is just because I'd collected a lot of subreddits over years, but haven't gotten the chance to find quite as many verses yet.

I like the tool that voat gives you to find subverses... This was what you had to do when you first registered.. It helped me find a bunch that I would have normally not thought of, and also showed me several family ones like: geopolitics, science, technology, askvoat, etc..

Yes, mainly because their is less content to browse. So I end up hopping around on the site more often than I did on reddit. I hope the user base on Voat continues to grow, so that there will be more content. Sometimes I'll go to a subverse with hundreds of subscribers, but there hasn't been anything new posted to it in the past two weeks.

I do. I think it's because its just more accommodating and I'm more confident in actually getting heard instead of dismissed based on something that may have been read wrong or taken in a way I didn't mean it. I've seen a lot of positivity and acceptance. It's only been three hours, but still...

I agree with this so much!

I'm browsing more because the user base is smaller, and the big subverses aren't as active. Then again on reddit I spent most of the time on specific subreddits I liked.

I've thus far found myself migrating to most of the major verses but that's more because the others aren't overly populated yet. I plan to make some submissions to a few that I definitely hope grow soon like /v/askhistory

I am browsing around a lot more because I'm looking for subverses to get into. A lot of the ones I frequented at the other place don't exist here or don't have any active users.

Have you found any subverses you'd like to share? Always looking for new content at the moment!

Well.... I'm pretty much still stuck on the basics. I just hit the random button over and over.

First thing I did was find the places i had on reddit. Then, after seeing that finding subverses seems to be easier, i got alot more of them. site seems like it could be even better then reddit.
