No kidding. And to be fair, people are pretty good at keeping track of small pieces of physical authentication: credit cards, IDs, passports, drivers' licenses. But we're pretty lousy at remembering authentication information.
And say what you like about paper; it's difficult to hack remotely. There's a reason why 90 percent of HIPAA regulations only apply to digitally stored information.
