I Do think that there are some people who are born inclined to be attracted to their own sex. I ALSO believe though, that sexual attraction CAN be a learned thing. Hell; look at how many young women in this country have learned to be Bi, so they can be part of the oppression olympics.
At the end of the day - I think LGBT groups are just seriously afraid of any success story coming out of one of these businesses - it threatens their "Born this way/don't judge me" mantra.

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I appreciate that it can be undesirable to take a thing people can't really change about themselves and stigmatize it: sexuality, skin color, height, anything. As a gay person who had to fight a lot of stigma that I ultimately decided I don't agree with, I don't like the idea of helping people see it as a "disease" that can be "cured". Even if we disregard the 'disease' part, it's VERY FAR from being something that can be 'cured'.
You want a cure for Polio? Here's the polio virus, here's how it works, here's how it infects the body, so go ahead. You want a cure for hodgkins lymphoma? Sure, here's what goes deranged in the cell, here's what goes wrong, here's how those imbalances grow and grow until the host organism is killed.
You want a cure for the gay? Well, we just can't do that. We don't actually know what makes you gay. Sure, I can sit a person down in front of you, I can let you talk to them, I can let you guess whether they're gay. Fruity little fags give themselves away with limp-wrists, lisps and giggles, but me? I'm very straight-acting. And that's not something I 'learned' to do. I've just always looked normal, felt normal, but also, I've been attracted to dudes, not ladies.
There is no scientific test any single person can prescribe that will determine, conclusively, whether the subject is homosexual. We don't know what homosexuality IS, so how can we profess to cure it?
I believe that people should have access to whatever sort of care they want. If somebody wants to try to live out heterosexual activities, man, I want that person to be able to get all the help there is to be gotten. I just worry, I guess, about teenage kids who are only involved in this sort of therapy at their parents' behest. That can fuck you up even more, make you inculcate this deeply-held belief that there's something sick about you, something broken, that needs to be fixed.
I know lots of people here on voat would agree that there is something sick, broken, and that needs-fixing about homosexuals. And that's fine. I wasn't gonna fuck any of you dogmatic idiots anyway.
When it gets right down to it, the comparison between liberals wanting to disallow counseling for kids who don't want to be gay, and liberals wanting to force kids to have their genitals mutilated by doctors and their puberty prevented(!) by hormone blockers even if their parents don't want them to, illustrates the short-sighted and fascistic nature of their twisted morality.

Sounds like something that probably should have passed "prohibit counselors from proposing or engaging in treatments to change a minor's sexual orientation or gender identity". It would have stopped teachers trying to change their student's genders
