How does anybody know? I know he goes to church and is an actively practicing Christian - with close ties to influential Christian leaders. That could just be smart American politics or smart Republican politics - the Christian right voted Trump on mass during the last election - but Trump was also raised at a time when most Americans still went to church with regularity. He's older than me, and when I grew up it was still illegal to be open on Sunday. My parents were raised as church goers as well.

I see a lot of the Maga/anti-Maga conflict as fundamentally a Christian vrs Jewish conflict. The war on American society driven by the left is actually a war on America's Christian social values - values Trump is now working to restore. Communism/leftism is actually a Jewish creation. While in Russia one of the main targets of Communism was the Christian Orthodox church. That church is again on the rise under Putin in the post Communist era. Part of the Trump/Putin common ground is their mutual support of Christianity.

There are many behaviors of Trumps that yield me great skepticism. Ultimately, right this second, he could clear out the illegals, send in the national guard to every sanctuary city and state, put bounties on illegals. It would be trivial, what good is anything if we can't even protect the sovereignty of our own nation?

The war on American society driven by the left is actually a war on America's Christian social values - values Trump is now working to restore.

How is he working to restore these values? Does he scorn gays and demand trannies be locked into loony bins? Is he repealing the 1965 naturalization act? Obliterating the federal reserve and changing the public educational system?

He has to be careful not to ignite a civil war - the Pentagon analysis clearly states that should a civil war begin many foreign powers are expected to intervene such that holding the country together is far from guaranteed. So Trump walks softly. We here may agree with the idea of a harsh crackdown - but Trump has to lead all Americans - including the very large percentage who do not hold right wing views.

Short of a WWII war measures style powers - such as were initiated after Pearl Harbor - the Federal Government does not actually have the - uh - political currency, if you will, - to engage in extreme measures without generating a severe backlash. Look at what was initiated after 9/11 - Department of Homeland Security/ TSA/ black site torture/ GITMO/ continuous surveillance/etc - all justified by an extreme event - amazing these actions did not lead to immediate uprising. Look at what is happening right now - simply attempting to enforce the existing laws concerning immigration carries a huge political controversy.

Smart leaders know it's a hearts and minds kind of thing - first you must bring your people into your vision - so it becomes a shared vision - then you implement policy with the cooperation and participation of the people... now convince it was their idea all along.

Trump is a smart leader... he has to turn the ship without sinking it. He has a lot of experience doing exactly this sort of thing gained from running his very large organization which is why I believe he has a chance to succeed.
