... Yeah. ... Sure.... Why did my wife just spend $400 on baby shit holders, if we havent even got the baby yet.

Yes! Some of the things people feel that they need are a waste of money and space. I bought a simple diaper pail that didn't require refill bags; it did the job just fine. No wipe warmer in this house either.
Others things are nice to have but don't need to be brand new or expensive to work just as well.

I broke down and bought a wiper warmer. Midnight diaper changes in winter with a cold wipe on a half awake baby.... it's not about making him more comfortable but letting me sleep more since he doesn't fully wake up from a cold jolt.
But yeah... I always say most of th is stuff we "need" didnt exist 30 years ago and babies were fine

honestly I would forget to fill it up half the time I'm sure. Also really I did a lot of nursing in the middle of the night but I don't remember a ton of diaper changes at least not poopy ones so I just did not see a need for it.
Glad it helped you get some more sleep though.
And exactully these things make our life easier but the babies were just fine with much less. Although thank God for some of the things like battery powered mini swings. We had no room for a big one so I would move this thing around the house. My daughter would nap in it, she was an awful sleeper so the swing helped.

I have two in diapers. Costco disposables are the way to go. $38 for a box of 130 per kid plus a $19 box of 900 wipes, it lasts all month. Nothing makes me happier then when I know I'm all stocked up on diapers!

Finland gives every new mother a box with all this stuff. The box then becomes the baby's crib.

Indeed. I still have some of the fancier stuff in the garage from my first. Still waiting for the (almost 40) liberal sister in-law to get around to taking that off our hands. I'm not holding my breath though. Apparently the only people permitted to have a ton of babies in her world view are brown people with their palms out.

Psh... That looks like one nice bucket! You'd pay like... 200 bucks for a bucket like that today.
