I know this is kind of a weird upload for me as I don't watch sports but I recently watched some highlights on Bird and he fucking impressed me.

I always assumed the "white men can't jump" was about white people believing in team work over individual show boating from dunking.
For example; Jordan's one man team on the Bulls up against shorties like John Stockton and Jeff Hornacek. Those Jazz vs Bulls games were the last good games I ever watched. Jordan fouled the fuck out of them so he could retire with that ring but the Jazz was the superior team by far.
Edit: on a side note, when they say he was an it if nowhere rural boy... They aren't lying. I lived in Utah and drove by his house every time in the way to my Grandma's house. Easily a 15 minute drive to his neighbor's house from where he grew up.

the movie title was making fun of stereotypes from black people, the white actor, i forget his name was a great b ball player and hustled blacks on the courts. it was before PC. you should watch it, it a good shot and a beer movie.

I seen it when it came out, but the stereotype was pushed hard for years

Bird played intelligently.
