Only criminals should have guns (that includes our government).

In Tropico 5 if you issue a tax cut it raises your popularity with every faction except the communists and environmentalists. It converts some people away from communism too though XD.

A lot of their complaint seems to be that the individual tax cuts expire. I hate that too.

So I’m sure they will be voting to make the cuts permanent right? Right?

Every change to tax rates has an expiration date. They do it so that it's easier for them to fuck with the tax code down the line.

I haven't read the final form but from the earlier forms the expiration was linked to economic growth. If we didn't reach a certain threshold the taxes would expire. So if we do reach that threshold then they don't expire. The republicans are betting that the economy will reach and sustain that threshold so there shouldn't be a rollback on the cuts. Time will tell.

What strikes me as particularly incompetent is that the leadership hasn't even put together the easiest argument yet. It's not an honest argument but it's an easy and effective one. That is that the tax cuts, government taking less money from "the rich" (cause that's the only way they can frame it for their divisionary tactics) means they won't have as much money to give "back to those who need it" (i.e. welfare programs). It's the platform the democrats/socialists/commies have always ran on yet for some reason this time around they just can't seem to be able to articulate it. It's astonishing and I can't figure out why they're failing at this.

You know we spend more on defense than we do on welfare, right?

You know we all benefit from defense and only some of us are dependent on welfare, right?

You must just be out of the MSM liberal loop because that is exactly how they are casting it. 'if you are poor and get 380$ tax relief and they are rich and get 200,000 tax relief, Trump robbed 200,000 from the poor and gave it to the rich #peoplewilldie'

No, I've heard that on NPR. I also heard the NPR anchor not be able to help himself from laughing at the guy. The message is there but they're failing to be able to communicate the argument in a believable way when it should be so easy.

Maybe it's a failure of leadership from the top. I mean who're the top democrats right now? Mumbling Feinstein, Fauxcahontas, Mcturtle. All of them have turned into complete blithering idiots in the headlights of Trump's successes. I remember just a couple years ago when Fauxcahontas was very well spoken and could argue strong points in congress. Now she just whimpers in breathy half sentences never getting to her points. TDS has crushed them all it seems.

Because when you tell someone to pay even more taxes when they're already paying 30-45% taxes, is not a good strategy, and the dems know it. And that's the problem, the dems KNOW their policies will lose jobs, fuck up the economy, and destroy livelihoods, but has it ever stopped them? Look at NAFTA, ACA, Common Core(Technically passed by Bush), Housing Bubble 1.0. As long as they get their cut, they couldnt give two shits who lives or dies.
