That's just one issue, and really a small one.
Peripheral support is still pretty bad. On win systems, 99% of what you plugin just works.
No unified app store. This is how android succeeded. Sure, there are many flavors, but the important thing, software, runs reliably on all of them.
Not easy to buy. Non techies won't install an os, and walking into a store, or even going online is difficult.
Fragmentation. There are hundreds of distros, madness.
I could go on.

Never, and it's not. This hints of a serious security issue and that the OS may be compromised.

Ubuntu is the McDonald's happy meal of linuxs. Way better than fedora was though.

Should your BIOS be corrupted, you may need to replace your motherboard if there is not a removable flash chip.
Jesus....

I hope the Linux advocates will understand why those of us who have lived and breathed Windows since 3.0 will be reluctant to give Linux a shot after this. I tried and used 17.10 on my MSI and thank God that it didn't manage my laptop. To say the least, I will never give it a chance to.

It is colliding with the Lenovo BIOS rootkit I assume.
