The question is: Why would a species with such mind-boggling capabilities even be bothering with us? ...
... There is nothing we could teach them, except perhaps the depths of wanton cruelty, as innocent children get bombed around the globe every day. Any species concerned with the welfare of the universe might well exterminate us, before a species of such depravity evolved further, and reached a truly dangerous technological level.
Imagine if human scientists felt the same way about studying our environment. Fortunately they don't exhibit blinding self-hatred the way this author does.

Why do you equate social criticism with "blinding self hatred"? You would call Mark Twain full of "blinding self-hatred." Simple minds.

You are human and appear disgusted by human activity. You feel humans are so useless they need not be taken for any value, even scientific.
Mark Twain did not hate his fellow man. He used wit and word to enlighten us about our follies.
