On the bright side at least EA wouldn't treat fan projects any worse.

You don't think Nintendon't isn't going there already? (I get that this example is not as "micro," but multiple transactions for ongoing DLC... Shame.) https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/mario-rabbids-kingdom-battle-switch#add-on-content

The "token boxes" would mostly be the same re-skin, with a few jump token sprinkled along for the ride. And infinite*.

Clearly $99.99 is the best value.

I swear I saw something like this with more pictures showing a 'freemium' version of Super Mario Bros. Think it was a full article rather than just a single Tweet too.

Still, it's a good reminder of how 'far' games have come since the 80s, and how horrible the gaming world would be if all our favourite old school classics were designed with the same exploitative monetisation strategies we see in games today.

I'd find a way to download more jumps

Unlimited? EA would never allow that.

Wish I could gif.

I'D make a gif of the infinite 1-ups turtle shell at the end of world 3-1 but have dollar signs instead of 1-ups
