There was hope, albeit brief and dashed, that they were going to open source it. That would have been fantastic. I still stick with AMD for most purchases and have since the AMD K6-2. Well, for my personal stuff. At my company we used a lot of Intel stuff after DEC sold.

And someone on here once said "there are no corporate good guys".
AMD putting control back into the hands of system builders and users is a very good thing.
