The US is being Hispanicized. If trends continue, English won't retain its dominance.

Only in the Southwest is Spanish a real threat at all. And mostly the LA area. Mexico's birthrate has collapsed. I hardly see how the North is going to be predominately Spanish speaking in a hundred years.

Well you've got El Salvadorans, Domicans, Puerto Ricans in the Northeast, not exactly Mexican, but still Hispanic. Then of course you have Cubans and Puerto Ricans in Florida.

That "trend" has been turned around in just the last 2 years.

How is it being reversed? I look on a map and the largest sources of immigration to most states is Mexico.

The Chinese 21th century is a very real and likely future.
I'll look toward it with Prussian stoicism. Germany is too important to fail if it can survive in its current form, and will topple due to its own weakness and guilt cult without any Chinese intervention if it gets overwhelmed by Islam and niggers.

I think the English language won't retreat. I see non-native speakers using it on the internet between each other fairly common. It is today's Latin ('latin' as in the language of Rome, not latin-American)
That doesn't mean America or Europe aren't endangered, but I think that even if we are genetically submerged in a sea of mud, the English language will survive that.

French was mostly the lingua franca of the upper classes. It never attained the currency English has.

There are several processes that 'protect' English, so to speak.
Dutch is still the language of the Surinam parliament, even though —and precisely because— all the ethnic groups have their own language.
In addition, Chinese might not be attractive for a variety of reasons, involving political and cultural (dis)tastes, but mainly because its spelling seems hugely inefficient as compared to the Roman alphabet. (Efficiency-wise, I would rather imagine Hangul —the Korean 'alphabet'— take the lead, but this is not likely the case.
Btw The weird and enigmatic thing with English is that, although the usage of the Roman alphabet is efficient, the English spelling convention is not at all! Wasn't it Shaw who suggested that 'fish' migth as well be spelled "ghoti"? The 'gh' from 'laugh', the 'o' from 'women', and the 'ti' from 'nation' :D (I looked it up: Shaw is associated with ghoti but did probably not came up with it.)

Well, economic power is latent power which means greater potential for military power. If China can push us around they will. Especially as our interests sharply conflict with theirs. Our interest is to bottle them up. Their interest is to expel us from their region.
The good news I suppose is they probably won't grow as much as they could.
If we go Syria mode maybe we'll nuke them. I'm going full Turner Diaries there.
It's a shit situation. Maybe we're better off pretending race doesn't matter. That is not a reality based alternative though.

Apologies if you don't get the snark here.
