SWAT-like teams have always a directive to follow when talking about operations,and it never ever contains telling the truth about details.Telling the details of a operation can severely backfire at a future operation,and it doesnt matter in terms of the investigation,because everyone involved knows.

Yes, door separating the two rooms was found to be locked, and had to be explosively breached.
