Moved more than a 2000 miles away from home- for work. (Much better atmosphere as well)
Good thing is- it worked, I'm employed
Bad thing is- There is not bad, those thinking about moving far away for the first time to a new place, go do it.
Edit: It's been well over a year since I moved, and it's been great. My advice if to find a place that has a good economy. I couldn't even get a job at a gas station, I moved, and got into IT (my passion), There is no substitute for ambition.

A few years ago, I met a guy in a video game while finishing grad school. I decided to move halfway across the country to be with him. Well, the relationship didn't work out, but now I have met someone who I can see myself spending my life with, and I have a job that I love. If I hadn't moved, I never would have met my current SO nor would I have moved up so quickly in my profession. Oh, and I got two kittens last year, which may or may not have happened if I'd stayed in Michigan.

recently, it's to reduce my alcohol consumption and get back into fitness.
i've been watching myself slowly spiral into a vortex of self loathing, and despair for a lost dynasty, but i decided a few days ago, to try and end it. it's physically painful at the moment, but i'm already seeing improvements in my overall well being.

I was offered an opportunity to help develop a course for my undergrad university. It wound up taking full time hours for a full summer but wound up being incredibly worth it and acted as a major catalyst to get me to where I am today. I imagine you'd be able to piece together the subject by looking at my username.

I started working out about a month and a half ago and now I have more energy than ever in my life. An hour post-workout when fully recovered I feel a high comparable to the high cocaine creates.

Changing my diet / way of eating.
Up until 2 1/2 years ago I ate the "standard American diet" of fast food, sodas, lots of breads, pastas and sugary foods. At 5'2" I weighed 162 lbs, had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, allergies and no energy.
In February 2013 I made the switch to a low carb, high fat, moderate protein diet (it's called Keto, very similar to the early phase of Atkins...). I lost weight immediately (currently at 114lbs), my blood pressure lowered, my cholesterol went up temporarily as I lost the weight but is now greatly improved, my allergies are gone and I have more energy than I would have believed possible. And BACON all the time!
Getting the carbs and sugars out of my body and using healthy fat as a fuel honestly changed my life.
