both of the accounts I have had allowed for investing in various things once the account balance was high enough and didn't have any fees for the end user beyond what the employer paid for admin. I'm sure it changes once you quit your job though, particularly if the balance is smaller.
dunno if rollovers to a decent company like Vanguard are a thing, but that'd probably help after leaving a job to avoid getting screwed if it's a thing.

Good luck finding an HSA that grows as fast as inflation. Mine loses value every year, and the penalties for shutting it down are horrendous.

What do you have it invested in? There's really no reason it should do worse than an IRA or 401(k).
