Hell yeah! There's lots of content there already. I put gifs in the sidebar where you can learn the basics by watching.

I don't have a site to recommend for tutorials. You can find everything on the youtubes though for each step of the way. :)

I was always a knitter only, but I see no reason why crotchet wouldn't work here. We're not that other site with silly strict moderation and censorship everywhere.

This is something I have always wanted to learn and do but never actually learned. Crocheting seems more my type of thing than knitting.

Well, I can't speak for crochet, but knitting is not too hard to get started with. You've got a knot to start with, and after that your using your two needles to thread your yarn into one continuous knot with a consistent size/diameter for each step based on your needle size. There are only two thing to learn for the basics, which is the difference between a knit or a purl. With one you pull the yarn into the loop from the front, and the other is from the back.

Eventually you'll reverse the flow and start knitting your new row into an old row, but the threading is still the same.

More advanced stuff can have you pulling yarn into weird places or switching up colours and such, but basic knitting (even with all knits and no purls) can produce you a decent blanket or some kitchen mitts pretty quick.

I'm kind of sad @needlestack doesn't have any basic intro vids/articles in the sidebar, because it's a good hobby for when your hands are free but your eyes are occupied.

(I'm also 95% sure that everything you can crotchet can be knitted, and vice versa)
