No, the entitlement culture doesn't exist here in the UK.

Edited to add: Well, not in the same way as in the USA.

Netherlands here and we learn about our slave trading history but we don't really spent a lot of time on it. Maybe it is because not a lot of descendants of former slaves live in the Netherlands? I can image this demographic is a lot bigger in the US.

It's interesting, I'm originally from England and I don't think I ever heard people talk about it. People in the US (Where I now live.) talk about it quite frequently. The most interesting bit though, is how Americans will argue about slavery to this day. People will support the confederate flag by saying it isn't racist or that the south didn't want slavery. It's shocking, really.

In Canada our most well known instance of slavery was using the Chinese to build the Transcontinental railway. The only time it ever gets brought up is in History class.

Sometimes it is brought up in reference to the sex trade. There are many people who fall in this category. Another demographic are housekeepers/nannies from places like the Philippines.

Depends how much of a victim they want to be on any given day...

On a serious note, I'm from the UK and I hardly ever hear slavery being brought up, either inside or outside of arguments. Racism, yes, but not slavery.

UK here, slavery is almost never mentioned apart from when learning about it in a classroom.
