I'm sure this sort of thing is going on all over the country at every level of government.

Your local state government office. I'm sure somebody has a stash of fajita meat in their desk.

That's over $11,500 per month. I call bullshit that no one else noticed that much food going missing for 9 years. Also, bullshit that no one noticed that fajita guy had a side business making 5 digit revenue every month. Lots of stink on this one.

$11,500 is within the realm of float for a big operation. I've seen that level of waste from employees simply over serving customers, no theft involved. That only one person ever looked at the incoming inventory is the real issue here.

For a place that does distribution like they do...that's not even that much money.

I had a family member spend over $200k within 2 years with nothing to show for it. Stranger things have happened.

Texas man arrested for stealing $1million in fajitas | Daily Mail Online

'Texas authorities say that a man who was caught stealing more than a million dollars worth of fajitas over nine years may be looking at serious jail time. ', "During his absence, a driver from Labatt Food Service - the Juvenile Justice Department's meat vendor - called to verify an order they were preparing to deliver: 800 pounds of fajitas."

'Prosecutors say that on August 7, Escamilla took the day off to go to a medical appointment. '

'An employee at the department first dismissed the order as a mistake, given the fact that the facility does not serve fajitas. ', "But this is the real thing,' District Attorney Luis V. Saenz told The Brownsville Herald."
