I believe it should be reserved for treasonous government employees, found to have acted in the interest of foreign powers or to the detriment of the American people overall, including any attempt to subvert the Constitution and it's amendments.
I also feel that the appeals process should be shortened. To address the overpopulation of our prison system, I'd render all prisoners indentured servants, their labor available to the highest bidder. Individuals in minimum security prisons would be taught trades, so they might turn their life around in a vibrant, virtually tax free economy. Violent offenders and thieves would work to repay their victims. Rapists and murderers would get a mandatory minimum sentence of 35 years without the possibility of parole, and anyone that serves more than one sentence for a total period exceeding 5 years in prison or more than two sentences exceeding 2 years should be in prison for life with the possibility of a final chance in the form of parole. Blow that, and you never taste freedom again.
I think the most affordable way to carry out executions that can't be whined about by the Left is to introduce a lethal dose of heroin, and I think we need a neutralizing personal firearm for use by law enforcement that is non lethal but is reliable. Until stun guns are foolproof, capable of putting people from 400 pounds to 75 pounds on the ground, and don't risk killing people with heart conditions, I recommend we use firearms in exclusivity.
For bonus points, I feel that house arrest should be something 100% of murderers and sexual predators must have for life. Ankle monitors should be explosive.
I'd love to debate every point I've made here.

Dude, If you're eco-friendly, You have my vote. (and legalize marijuana)

Eco friendly in the sense that I think the largest threat to our environment is a failure to create a market for outdoor air purifiers, which are a real thing that, if implemented on our nations highways and in parking garages, major Urban and metropolitan areas, power plants, industrial parks, airports, etc. could solve 100% of our emissions problems. I feel that the numbers on global warming are dramatically augmented and demonstrably unscientific. As a Boy Scout, I'm a firm believer in Leave No Trace, and I feel that our nation needs to solve pollution of our forests, parks, roadways and waters, and that cutting down on microbead usage in cosmetics is the best easy thing we can do for the environment and public health.
I smoke weed 3 times a week, minimum.

Was just saying this. Private contracts with a standard for measuring the torture... Perhaps through a monitoring of psychological state with an electrode cap or something. Meet the standard and bid as low as possible to gain the contract.

It's a joke in most states that have it because the state fiddles around with legal crap for so many years while the condemned sits on death row. I think states figure if they fool around long enough, the condemned will die of natural causes and they don't have to actually execute them.

Speeding? Spitting on sidewalk?
Actually, I agree.

Not even just for crimes. Accidents, random acts of violence, whatever. The only real goal in the life of any creature is to die and everything else is just filler.

the death penalty should only be available for sentencing in cases which provide incontrovertible evidence of guilt for murder, child rape, or treason. if such evidence exists the penalty should be carried out on the day of sentencing. there should be no appeals and there should be no time wasted. however, i do realize that this is a very high standard of evidence and it should be, because lives are on the line.

Beyond all reasonable doubt is already the standard, has been for decades, and still leads to situations where it's been proven that we've still had innocent people on death row for years.
Best solution I've come up with is life in prison for those cases, but if you have multiple executable offenses, separately tried, that's what capital punishment is for.

I'm aware of this and it isnt a suitable reason to give the death penalty for the reasons youve stated. I specifically mentioned incontrovertible evidence because it is essentially 100% proof of the commission of the crime. reasonable doubt can easily be overcome with a slick lawyer.

Perfect opinion. Any circumstantial evidence like DNA, eye witnesses, (anything that can be planted) just goes straight to life in prison.
