This is not good. Governments don't have any business telling citizens what they can or can't put in their own bodies.

I tend to see it as 50 states have decriminalized pot and nothing is going to change it. It's not our fault the SCOTUS is bought and paid for and doesn't see it that way, but Freedom of Religion should just about cover everyone's cannabis needs. And as easy as it is for some "doctor" to diagnose you with some problem they want to pass some sort of prescription drug out for, it's easy enough to find some of the same symptoms pot will treat. And if pot is the safest treatment, or the safest chemical addition to your comprehensive treatment plan, most religious people would have to agree that's probably the route "God" would have them go.

Then looking at all the lives cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, etc., have taken, and everything else cannabis could be used for, but isn't, or isn't allowed. It's plain to see Life, Liberty, & the Pursuit of Happiness has been under attack by a draconian government for far too long. There is no moral or religious call to take cannabis away from people, some people might want to look into moderation and not being so stoned, but that's a personal call. Nobody was given the "right" to sit there and arbitrarily dictate to others.

Nebraska has not decriminalized to my knowledge. It's far from 50 states, that's for sure.

50 states have most certainly not decriminalized. That is patently false. As is the contention that anyone on the SCOTUS is "bought and payed for." They have lifetime appointments, they have zero need to raise money for elections, so who would pay them and under what mechanism could they get away with accepting the money"? This whole thread is so full of retarded misinformation it is ridiculous.

The alcohol and tobacco industries must be paying him nicely.

Lol what? The attorney general is appointed, not elected, under what mechanism would he be receiving money from the alcohol and tobacco industry? This comment is retarded.

Jeff Sessions just honestly really doesn't like weed or the people who smoke it, which is no secret. No one has to pay him anything for him to go after that shit.

Then don't hang with the smokers and toke on a dubbi. Cocaine is the evangelical drug of choice.

I don't see how being appointed has anything to do with taking money or gifts from friends who may want you to do them a favor or two.

And big pharma. They don't want people smoking something they can grow themselves. They want people taking their pills.

29 states have legal pot. Jeff Sessions wants to stamp it out, and he's closer than you think - LA Times

'The attorney general, he said, is out of step with the president, who has expressed support for medical marijuana. '

'But now, Congress may throw it overboard amid pressure from an attorney general who views marijuana as a dangerous menace. '

'It prohibits the Justice Department from spending even a cent to prosecute medical marijuana users and sellers operating legally under state laws. '

'Rohrabacher insists Trump would step in to protect medical pot if someone could get him to focus on what is going on. '

'The Obama administration had just pledged to let states go their own way on medical and recreational pot. '
