Whenever a shooting happens the GOP dances around the 2nd Amendment as if it doesn't exist. Whether they enforce the law is irrelevant in cases like this where the laws can't prevent the crime. We're not going to curtail a right because of its abuse, this is a fundamental principle that the GOP won't stand up for. This is how London's Muslim mayor addressed Islamic terrorism:

Mr Khan, who is expected to meet New York mayor Bill de Blasio later today at an event with Muslim community leaders, said attacks were "part and parcel" of life in a big city.

"It is a reality I'm afraid that London, New York, other major cities around the world have got to be prepared for these sorts of things," he said.

Notice he doesn't equivocate about legislation, he takes the option off the table completely: life with Muslims means terrorism, get used to it. An outsider like Khan can shamelessly defend the worst of his people, but Congress can't speak up for a right protected by the Constitution.

I love Trump. But I would love even more to see Trey Gowdy elected 45th President of the USA. I'd even settle if Trump gave Softie Sessions the boot and replaced him with Gowdy.

Only statement that matters. 2a was created as a hard stopper to a tyrannical government. Nothing else matters. Fire rate, capacity, caliber, background checks, all of it is bullshit that infringes 2a. 2a was created to protect you from the government. https://youtu.be/mVs9psi_G5k See history of gun control.
