What's happening is actually much more profound. These idiot football players are in opposition to Trump, but the way they're doing it also puts them in opposition to the flag. Effectively, they're handing Trump the flag.
This is why you shouldn't try to be a thought leader when you get paid to scramble your brains on a weekly basis.

Actions speak louder then words. They are doing something disrespectful to a symbol of the country (flag or song take your pick), and saying it is for some cause. They have a lot to say about the cause but few if any of them have any actions that seem to draw the media attention that their disrespect does.

The protest has always been retarded for that reason, simply replace Trump with police. The original point was supposedly that cops kill blacks. So to protest cops Kaepernick refused to honor the flag. Rather than claiming police behavior was dishonoring the flag, he connected the police to the flag. As a result, instead of talking negatively about the police like he wanted, he started a negative discussion about himself acting unAmerican. Then a bunch of other imbeciles started joining him proving none of them are capable of logical thought or effective use of iconography.

Fuck yes. You said it perfectly. The cops that act out of line are just as disrespectful to the country as the nigs taking a knee. First time ive heard someone else put it this way and it couldn't be anymore right

I actually thought about this tonight.
A better way for him to have made his point would have been to say that he was kneeling as respect for his fellow Americans who lost their lives to police brutality.
But it wouldn't be race baiting or anti-American enough.
They're just fucking mouth breathers anyway.

I'm not sure having everyone disrespect the president by kneeling is the answer.
[–] optionalfrank 0 points 4 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago
The point is to make those who disrespect the president look like the idiots they are. They already disrespect him, and we need to make normal Americans see how crazy they truly are.
[–] leahbettsisdead ago
Soooo confused. So, normal people will think those who intended to disrespect the president are actually respecting the president, yet in the disrespectors head, they know they no longer are disrespectful, but continue regardless?

In normal societies it's respectful to kneel before your king. The thought being that you show an act of submission towards them since it's difficult to attack from a kneeling stance before the king's protectors can retaliate from their normal standing stance.

I always thought taking a knee was a sign of submission. ya know...kinda like this

Yep. That's why Zod made Superman do it.

Zod, before Priscilla Queen of the desert.

You mean how a citizen would stand up for his country but a slave would kneel before those standing?
Imagine a giant coliseum where people gather for entertainment and those that are the entertainment take a knee due to one person. Not sure if I'm describing Rome, or the NFL.
