interesting. if Square Enix stops making games I'm interested in, then I guess that's fewer games that I'll want to buy. There are plenty of multiplayer games already, so I am skeptical about the transition. FF14 is one thing if it fills a particular niche very well, but trying to do more of that sort of thing is just going to overfill that niche and be a waste of effort.
Maybe if they come up with something fresh for a multiplayer experience it'd work, but when your flagship series has 15 numbered mainline entries that might be unlikely.
